This time of year is for the birds....

This time of year is for the birds....literally. I don't know what it is about this time of year but I go crazy making birds. Small ones and big ones....painted ones and even ones made out of those fantastic civil war reproduction fabrics that I have an addiction to. My local fabric store (Patches Quilting)is celebrating it's ninth year in our small town. Which is fantastic given the tough economy. So all this month the owner has great deals including "make a bag and stuff it". If you make a bag (any size) out of their fabric. Anything you put in it is %25 off.
So of course I made a bag the size of a pillow case....and I have been there three times this month. I would visit everyday if I had the money. Like most folk artists out there, I buy my fabric retail....and it has gotten increasingly expensive over the last five years.Like everyone else I LOVE a bargain so this sale has come along at the perfect time for making my birds......Thank you Jackie
